What this is

Princetons University is a private, read-only web interface for your own Gmail. By signing in you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not sign in.

Princetons University Mail is operated by Princetons University for its own members. Princetons University is an independent organisation, is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google LLC, and is not affiliated with Princeton University.

Who may use it

Access is limited to accounts approved by the operator. You may only sign in with a Google account you own or are authorised to use. You are responsible for activity under your account.

What it does and does not do

The app holds the gmail.readonly scope. It can list and read your mail. It cannot send, reply, delete, archive, label, or otherwise modify anything in your mailbox, and it cannot act on your behalf.

Acceptable use

• Do not use the app to access a mailbox you are not authorised to access.
• Do not attempt to circumvent its authentication or access another user's session.
• Do not use it to break the law, or to violate Google's terms.
• Do not automate, scrape, or place unreasonable load on it, which would also consume the underlying Google API quota.

Availability

The app is provided as-is with no uptime commitment. It depends on Google's APIs and on its hosting provider, and it may be unavailable, changed, or discontinued at any time without notice.

Your data

Handling of your information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: no database, no copies of your mail, nothing shared.

Ending access

You can end access at any time by signing out, or by removing the app at myaccount.google.com/permissions. The operator may suspend or revoke access at any time.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. It is not a backup, an archive, or a system of record. Do not rely on it as your only means of accessing important mail.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, mail, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the app.

Changes

These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest version, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
